Govt. of Gujarat has Transferred 3 IAS Senior Officers, Reassigns Key Administrative Roles

Gandhinagar, 23 January 2026: The Gujarat government on Thursday carried out a minor bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring and reassigning three Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers across important administrative and public sector positions.

Ms. Shalini Agrawal, IAS Officer, who was serving as the Municipal Commissioner of the Surat Municipal Corporation, has been transferred from her current post. She has been appointed as the Managing Director of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL), Vadodara, the state’s apex power utility company.

Shri M Nagarajan, IAS Officer, who was serving as the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC), Ahmedabad, has been transferred. He has been appointed as the Municipal Commissioner of the Surat Municipal Corporation, taking over from Shalini Agrawal. His services have been placed at the disposal of the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department.

Following the transfer of Nagarajan M, the state government has assigned additional responsibility of the GSRTC to IAS Dr. Rajender Kumar. He who is currently serving as the Commissioner of Transport, Gandhinagar, has been given additional charge as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of GSRTC, Ahmedabad. He will oversee the state-run transport corporation alongside his existing responsibilities.
