Mumbai, 04 April 2025: SBI Card, India’s leading pure-play credit card issuer, has appointed Ms. Salila Pande as its new Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, effective April 1, 2025.
With nearly three decades of experience at State Bank of India (SBI), Ms. Salila Pande has held leadership roles in both domestic and international markets. Before taking charge at SBI Card, she served as Chief General Manager of Mumbai Metro Circle, overseeing SBI’s retail operations in one of India’s key financial hubs. Previously, as President & CEO of SBI California, she successfully navigated the bank through economic challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ms. Salila Pande brings a wealth of experience across retail banking, risk management, trade finance, and international banking. She has previously held key roles in SBI’s International Banking Group and Risk Management Department. Her global exposure includes leading risk management operations in Singapore and serving as an Executive Director on the board of SBI California.
A Gold Medalist in M.Sc. (Physics), she holds professional certifications, including Financial Risk Manager (FRM) accreditation and Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers (CAIIB).
Her appointment marks a strategic move for SBI Card as it looks to expand digital payment solutions, drive financial inclusion, and strengthen its position in India’s competitive credit card market.
